Geometry is the study of points, lines, planes, angles, surfaces and solids and the properties pertaining to each. Students will do extensive work with right triangles, parallel and perpendicular lines, quadrilaterals, circles and mathematical reasoning. Further, we will study trigonometry, congruency, similarity, and volume, area and surface area of certain polygons. In addition, students will study coordinate Geometry and investigate coordinate transformations. Topics covered in Geometry are consistent with 9-12 Mathematics standards/core and advanced Geometry strand. Content Standards - SD Department of Education
